The Pay, Perks, & Benefits Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and determined based on market benchmarks and internal equity Retirement benefits through the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) with employer match Generous time off, including vacation, paid sick leave, and paid family leave after one year Paid holidays, including a two-week paid winter break Anthem PPO and HSA health plans, with excellent dental options How You Will Help the Team The NASAM Instructor is a driven professional responsible for delivering instruction in an accelerated, short-term additive manufacturing training program. This role focuses on curriculum development, hands-on technical instruction, and student advising for adult learners in a technical training environment. Instruction includes additive manufacturing processes, safety best practices, applications, and applied lab training. This position may require travel and work during nights and weekends. What You Will Do Manage a diverse class of adult learners in a technical training environment Develop, maintain, and update curriculum and instructional projects as needed Maintain current knowledge of NAVAIR additive manufacturing processes and procedures Deliver instruction and advise students as an additive manufacturing subject matter expert Provide hands-on training in additive manufacturing applications and safety best practices Manage student records and complete administrative tasks related to instruction Handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality Your Knowledge and Expertise Defense manufacturing experience preferred Technical degree in manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and related occupational experience Knowledge of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) Extensive experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) Extensive experience with slicing software (Cura, Insight preferred) Hands-on experience with polymer-based additive manufacturing (3D printing) processes Demonstrated experience training and instructing adult learners Experience working with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience developing standard operating procedures and work instructions Creative, solution-oriented problem-solving mindset Commitment to quality instruction and academic integrity Essential Physical Requirements The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, use basic hand tools, move frequently throughout a training lab environment, and use stepladders.
