Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Plant Design Engineer is responsible for plant design and integration of plant equipment into operating aggregate systems.

The position develops scopes of work, correspondence, estimates, schedules, material lists, specifications, and design drawings. Design work includes field measurements, conceptual development, and detailed design of plants and structures. The position works primarily in team environments to deliver quality and timely projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 50
% of job: Position responsible for plant design and integration of plant equipment into operating facility systems, to include partnering with other engineering disciplines on projects, may act as project manager on discipline specific projects. 30% of job: Use AutoCAD to design and layout plants- structural steel design and mechanical systems. 20% of job: Interact directly with plant staff to understand needs, working both in office and onsite at aggregate quarry locations to estimate costs and resource requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelors Degree Work Experience:
5+ years
Engineering Experience, Mechanical or Civil Behavioral Competencies:
Technical Competencies:
AutoCAD and Project Scheduling software (MS Project) Working knowledge of mechanical systems Working knowledge of fabrication and construction
ENVIRONMENT OR PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to work with frequent exposure to dirty and dusty conditions and extremes of weather
