Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on and versatile Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical systems to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and provide technical leadership throughout the product lifecycle. This role serves as a critical bridge between engineering design and manufacturing, ensuring products, processes, and test systems are robust, scalable, manufacturable, and aligned with performance requirements. The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting complex electronics, PCBAs, electrical assemblies, and electro-mechanical systems while collaborating closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, production, and supplier partners to successfully transition products from development into production. Key Responsibilities New Product Introduction (NPI) Partner with R D, Electrical Engineering, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to transition products from development to production. Develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, assembly methods, and test procedures for new products. Support prototype builds, pilot production runs, and full-scale production launches. Participate in design reviews with a focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Technical Data Package (TDP) Support Interpret and clarify engineering drawings, electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), and product specifications. Serve as the primary technical resource for manufacturing teams, suppliers, and contract manufacturers regarding product documentation. Ensure all engineering documentation is complete, accurate, and production-ready. Manufacturing, Process & Test Engineering Develop, implement, and optimize assembly, integration, calibration, and test processes for electronic and electro-mechanical products. Design and support functional test stations, automated test equipment (ATE), fixtures, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems. Perform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing and test processes. Drive improvements in quality, yield, reliability, throughput, and production efficiency. Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. Supplier & Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with Quality, Procurement, Supplier Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure alignment on technical requirements. Support supplier qualification, onboarding, and ongoing performance improvement initiatives. Provide technical guidance and training related to electrical assemblies, PCBAs, manufacturing processes, and testing requirements. Work directly with contract manufacturers and component suppliers to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturability. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience supporting electronics, PCBAs, electrical assemblies, or electro-mechanical systems. Strong understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Test (DFT) principles.
Experience interpreting:
Electrical Schematics PCB Layouts Wiring Diagrams Engineering Drawings Bills of Materials (BOMs) Technical Specifications Experience developing manufacturing processes, test procedures, tooling, fixtures, and production documentation. Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical systems. Strong understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting PCBAs, electronics manufacturing, or defense/aerospace products. Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-2221, etc.). Experience with automated test systems (ATE), LabVIEW, or similar test platforms. Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, and other electronic test equipment. Experience with
CAD/ECAD
tools such as Altium, OrCAD, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks. Experience with ERP, PLM, PDM, or product lifecycle management systems. Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance and electronics testing. Lean Six Sigma Certification or equivalent continuous improvement training. Experience working with contract manufacturers and global suppliers.
