Job Description

Our agency is hiring a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer for our client, a leader in advanced defense technologies. This role is essential for helping the company build its manufacturing operations from the ground up at their facility in Stafford, VA. You will play a critical part in identifying design gaps, implementing practical fixes, and ensuring that product designs are successfully transitioned into full-scale production.
Location:
Stafford, VA Compensation:
$105,000-$115,000
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
Responsibilities:
Review mechanical designs received from headquarters and adapt them for efficient manufacturability and assembly. Identify design gaps, issues, or inefficiencies and implement practical engineering fixes. Design and build necessary fixtures, tooling, and production aids. Support prototype builds, first articles, pilot runs, and the ramp to production. Work hands-on on the manufacturing floor alongside assemblers and technicians. Troubleshoot mechanical issues during assembly, testing, and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP). Create and maintain essential documentation including drawings, BOMs, ECNs, and work instructions. Support layout planning and the physical setup of the new manufacturing floor. Qualifications Proven hands-on mechanical engineering experience involving both design and building. Strong understanding of modern manufacturing and assembly processes. Demonstrated ability to turn incomplete or imperfect designs into working products. Solid practical engineering judgment preferred over a purely theoretical background. Motivated, eager to work, and possessing a positive attitude. Strong ownership mentality and the ability to work independently. Willingness to travel as needed to support project requirements
