We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Korry in a fast-paced and cutting-edge aerospace manufacturing environment. In this pivotal role, you will own all aspects of one or more manufacturing processes. This includes leading process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives, driving operational excellence to ensure on-time delivery of quality products, maintaining compliance, and much more.
What You Will Do:
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Korry, you'll be on the front lines of manufacturing innovation. You will leverage your technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills to develop, implement, and maintain advanced manufacturing methods, tooling, and equipment for cutting-edge new and existing products. Primary Responsibilities:
Total manufacturing process ownership: Process definition, work instruction authoring, equipment definition, influence tooling design, and more. Drive continuous improvement:
Propose, plan, and implement substantial process improvements through the application of automation and new technologies, collaborating with expert vendors to develop innovative solutions. Take ownership of on-time delivery:
Aggressively pursue root cause and develop robust corrective actions to process inefficiencies and first-pass yield issues Quality mindset: Assess and modify existing manufacturing systems and documentation to drive superior quality, efficiency, and compliance with rigorous industry regulations (e.g., AS9100, RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810
). Collaborate on design:
Advise design engineering on production capabilities to influence new product development, drive sustaining product improvements, and mitigate obsolescence challenges. Provide expert support:
Offer high-level training and sustaining support to production personnel, acting as a go-to expert for complex problem-solving on the production floor. Grow and develop the team:
Act as a peer-leader and mentor to other team members and junior engineers. Strategically manage priorities to ensure integrated product teams are focusing efforts correctly. Other tasks as assigned. Preferred Education and Experience:
B.S. or M.S. in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field 8+ years of experience with electronics manufacturing and assembly in aerospace or other highly-regulated industry Preferred Skills and Abilities:
Ability to make significant improvements to manufacturing processes to optimize for efficiency and/or quality. Demonstrated project leadership experience through inception and implementation of productivity and cost-savings initiatives. Proven problem-solving expertise through the application of various root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies (e.g. 8D, A3, DMAIC, etc.). Strong peer-leadership and mentorship skills. CAD proficiency in programs such as Creo, SolidWorks, or similar software. A self-starting, highly accountable, and detail-oriented approach to owning challenges and solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of breaking down complex information for appropriate audiences. Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and be empowered to innovate and implement change. Ability to effectively manage priorities between sustaining production, productivity initiatives, and new product development for self and junior engineers. Physical Requirements:
Frequent movement about the production floor, working closely with operations and other engineering personnel. Continuous use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, etc. Uses hands, fingers, and arms to manipulate parts, equipment, tooling, materials, etc. Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
