Job Description
DescriptionLeo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we've designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. Key job responsibilities
Basic Qualifications
- Conduct failure mode analysis (FMA) and root cause analysis on phased array PCBAs and systems to determine underlying causes of defects
- Specify, procure, and establish FMA test stations optimized for phased array PCBA troubleshooting on the production floor
- Communicate non-conformances to quality engineering teams and PCBA suppliers, working collaboratively to implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring defects
- Write comprehensive technical specifications for troubleshooting procedures, tailored to Amazon Leo's satellite manufacturing requirements
- Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring engineers and technicians on troubleshooting techniques, failure analysis methodologies, and debug equipment operation
- Lead defect triage sessions and track failure trends across production shifts to identify systemic issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives About the team As a FMA and HW Engineer at Amazon Leo, you will be directly responsible for testing and qualifying next generation spacecraft PCBAs and conduct failure mode analysis on complex phased array systems.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Experience using Linux, demonstrating proficiency with associated tools or languages
- Experience with log analysis
- ability to parse and interpret system logs, error messages, and debug output
- Experience testing hardware sub-components, research and data analysis skills, and/or Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout best practices
