This is a newly created role due to sustained growth in the company. The company is a smaller but very profitable operation with an absolutely fantastic work culture and outstanding benefits. Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician to bridge the gap between design and production. You will support the manufacturing process from quote to completion. This role goes beyond standard programming. You will continuously monitor live production, troubleshoot quality issues, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:
Create programs : Write and modify CNC programs using Mastercam for all grinding equipment and also for CNC Milling Machine. Select tooling : Research and source the best grinding wheels, CNC tools, and fixtures. Prove prototypes : Manage new parts and prototypes until the manufacturing process is standardized. Process Engineering & Routing Build routers : Define step-by-step manufacturing methods, selecting optimal machines and sequences. Map product flow : Establish primary and secondary routing paths to eliminate floor bottlenecks. Model components : Utilize SolidWorks to generate ferrite drawings, bubble drawings, and inspection templates. Continuous Improvement & Floor Support Optimize live runs : Monitor active jobs to adjust programs, tooling, and parameters mid-run. Own quality metrics : Investigate NCs (Non-Conformances) and CARs (Corrective Action Requests) to reduce scrap. Boost throughput : Analyze production data to increase machine efficiency and cycle times. Maintain machinery : Understand all machining/grinding equipment to perform simple maintenance and troubleshoot errors. Data & Inventory Management Track data : Create, monitor, and modify production data collection systems. Estimate costs : Manage the grinding quote process for new customer inquiries. Organize shop assets : Take full ownership of the bobbin cabinet inventory. Consult on
