Full Time, Permanent (Onsite) Not eB.S. in Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university; 2+ years related design engineering experience to include component design and CAD work in a manufacturing environment. Additional experience :
  • Must be proficient at SolidWorks 3D design software .
  • Strong mechanical aptitude .
  • Understanding of metal stamping, plastic injection molding, FEA, and kinematics a plus .
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and how to apply them .
  • Experience creating DFEMA and DVP&R documents .
Job Descripti onSumma ry Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering design projects within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through other engineers assigned to the proje ct. Essential Duties and Responsibili tiesCreates product designs based on customer/company defined criteria using CAD data, drawings, specifications, and customer DVP&am p;R.Develop new product concepts, methods, and materials to broaden product offeri ngs.

Work directly with customers and company resources to exchange data, ideas, designs, and concepts leading to robust, functional designs that are effective and manufactura ble.

Prepare budgetary and firm manufacturing estimates that capture the costs associated with manufacturing process including secondary operations, material, tooling, components, outside services, and packag ing.

Manage new projects from product design through implementation including tool design, prototyping, product validation, technical assistance during launch, and ongoing production supp ort.

Conduct engineering analyses form fit and function, tolerance stack ups, lifecycle testing, and application of GD&am p;T.Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, customer performance requirements and specificati ons.

Prepare DFEMA and DVP&R documentation for assigned projects when requi red.

Prepares the required APQP documentation per APQP procedure and customer requirements while maintaining compliance with
IATF16949
standards governing the APQP proc ess.

Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test probl ems.

Prepares interim and completion project reports and proactively advises management of project status and projected resu lts.

Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of t heorems.
