Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for performing root cause failure analysis, developing and writing new manufacturing standard procedures (MSPs) as well as updating existing ones, assisting with cost reduction measures, communicating with customers and providing production support. Support automation system implementation and current system support. An extension of applications engineering to streamline existing and onboarding of new applications. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Conduct root cause failure analysis to identify and resolve production issues Perform cost‑reduction evaluations and implement process improvements and savings initiatives Provide technical support to customers and internal teams Create and maintain manufacturing standard procedures and work instructions Assist operations personnel with processing challenges and troubleshooting Propose specification changes to customer or supplier prints/drawings Research and prepare CapEx proposals Lead special projects from concept through completion, ensuring timely and successful outcomes Additional Responsibilities Follow all plant and corporate safety and quality policies Provide guidance, support, and technical information to technicians Assist in other areas or take on additional assignments as business needs evolve Education & Experience Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering or a related discipline from a four‑year college or university Two or more years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment Exposure to or training in Lean Manufacturing or Operational Excellence required Skills & Qualifications Strong professional communication skills with customers and coworkers Ability to speak, read, and write in English Highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to work independently Capable of managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing situations Proficient in using precision measuring and laboratory instruments such as FTIR, UV/Vis spectrophotometers, calipers, scales, micrometers, profilometers, or similar equipment Able to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance to lower‑level personnel Exercises sound judgment within broadly defined practices and policies Strong analytical and technical ability within area of expertise Ability to work with mathematical concepts including probability, statistical inference, geometry, trigonometry, and practical applications of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and other essential computer applications
