Job Description
Manufacturing Engineer Job Summary:
Reports to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer and is responsible for developing and improving equipment and manufacturing methods and processes with an emphasis in CNC machining. The typical cycle includes conceptualizing, developing prototypes, testing and perfecting the manufacturing process design. This individual will use established policies and procedures to complete work assignments. Duties and Responsibilities Assists with the introduction of new products and the continuous improvement of existing products by contributing to the design and development of manufacturing processes that meet cost, quality, delivery and safety expectations. Development of G-Code CNC programs for CNC mills and lathes by utilizing CAM software such as Surfcam. Defines machining configurations to achieve design, including equipment selection, cutting tool selection, and CNC programming for CNC Operations. Applies problem-solving skills to aid in the completion of defined portions of engineering projects within cost, safety, quality and delivery requirements. Documents clear and accurate explanations for all project and process changes. Writes detailed work instructions and tool lists to guide set-up and operation of machine, define work coordinate origins, outline detailing sequence of operation, providing special instructions where relevant. Provides troubleshooting skills and support for operators with process issues to improve productivity as needed. Responds to external customers in a timely manner and supports all efforts to ensure products meet customer requirements. Develops machining cycle times, provides data and cost estimates for creating and updating work standards and costs and new product development. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishes personal networks; participating in professional societies. Performs other duties as assigned Carry out and abide by company policies.Requirements Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree in engineering preferredExperience:
2+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, previous experience in product and machine design, fluent with CAD/Modeling and CAM Software.
