Job Title:
Manufacturing Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to design, develop, and optimize programs for progressive machining operations. This role involves working hands-on to enhance current processes while introducing new fixturing and tooling concepts. Responsibilities Program CNC machines, including vertical and horizontal lathes and mills. Estimate potential machining projects from prints and specifications. Create fixture designs and tooling lists for upcoming projects. Mount and secure tooling and holding fixtures, set stops, and calibrate fixtures to appropriate reference points, with a comprehensive understanding of Renishaw probing. Manually cycle through operation sequences to check fixtures, work positions, tooling, clearance, and speed/feeds through the first piece approval process. Develop and maintain setup checklists and instructions for operators. Diagnose operating challenges and improve cycle times for current programs. Make periodic operation checks to assure proper machining operations, recommending process improvements as needed. Adjust machines to correct deviations and ensure tolerances within specifications. Study operations and equipment used in the production process, recommending new methods and equipment to increase efficiency. Read and understand drawings and dimensional reports from CMM. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Proficiency in CNC programming, particularly with Fanuc G-Code. Experience in fixture design and machining. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and dimensional reports. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments. Additional Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of experience in SolidWorks. 3+ years of experience designing fixtures and molds. Experience in process improvement and continuous improvement. Familiarity with foundry, machine shop, automation, and casting environments. Work Environment The position is based in a machine shop/foundry environment. The setting can become warm during summer months, and candidates should be comfortable with this. The nature of the work may result in getting a little dirty, so wearing white is not recommended. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $50.48/hr.
