WHAT THIS ROLE WILL BE DOING
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our Diamond Kote division engineering team in improving production processes, developing mechanical solutions, and driving operational efficiency. This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced engineering environment and the opportunity to contribute to real manufacturing and product development activities. Key Responsibilities Assist engineers with process improvement initiatives such as workflow analysis, cycle time reduction, and waste elimination.

Support the development and revision of work instructions, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation.

Participate in root cause analysis and help implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Create or update CAD models and engineering drawings using tools such as Inventor, or AutoCAD.Collect and analyze production data, perform time studies, and assist with quality checks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain.

Assist with equipment setup, testing, validation, and troubleshooting under supervision.

Contribute to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement projects (5S, Kaizen, etc.).Support product or tooling trials and document findings.

Present key findings, reports, or project outcomes to engineering leadership. Required Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical design principles, and engineering fundamentals.

Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, etc.).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively.

Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Preferred Qualifications Exposure to Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Prior internship, co-op, or hands-on manufacturing experience.

Basic knowledge of PLCs, automation, or fixture design. What You'll Gain Real-world engineering experience in a production environment.
