Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Production Test Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and validating electronic assemblies and printed circuit boards (PCBs) to ensure they meet rigorous quality standards. This position plays a vital role in maintaining product reliability through precise testing procedures, quality control measures, and continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electronic knowledge, proficiency with test automation tools, and a keen eye for detail to support our commitment to delivering high-quality products. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive testing of electronic assemblies and PCBs utilizing automated optical inspection systems and manual testing methods. Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and multimeters to verify component placement and solder joints. Utilize schematic diagrams and technical documentation to troubleshoot and debug circuit issues effectively. Operate hand tools, soldering equipment, and other mechanical tools to assemble or repair components as needed. Collect data during testing processes to monitor performance metrics and identify potential defects or deviations. Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IPC 610 for soldering and assembly quality. Support quality assurance initiatives by performing routine inspections, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions. Assist in the development of test procedures and automation scripts to improve efficiency and repeatability. Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and implement process improvements. Maintain accurate records of test results, inspection reports, and calibration logs for traceability. Qualifications Proven experience in electronics manufacturing or assembly environments with a focus on testing and quality control. Strong knowledge of Surface Mount Technology (SMT), PCB assembly processes, and related manufacturing techniques. Familiarity with IPC 610 standards for soldering and electronic assembly quality assurance. Proficiency in using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, and data collection instruments. Experience with automated optical inspection (AOI) systems and test automation software. Mechanical knowledge related to component handling, soldering techniques, schematics reading, and troubleshooting electronic circuits. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions accurately. Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for identifying defects or inconsistencies during inspection processes. Strong communication skills to document findings clearly and collaborate effectively across teams. Knowledge of debugging techniques for electronic circuits and familiarity with manufacturing best practices.
