This position collaborates in the development and delivery of courses using both traditional and non-traditional instructional methods while maintaining professional competence in assigned teaching areas. This position participates in ongoing professional development and plays a critical role in developing and sustaining strong partnerships with local industries, high schools, and college partners to support student recruitment, internship opportunities, and workforce placement. Essential Functions Instructs a varied population of students in classroom and laboratory settings. Develops syllabi, course outlines, and instructional materials; evaluates student learning; maintains accurate scholastic records; and prepares and grades assessments. Advises students, maintains office hours, assists with registration, and addresses academic and program-related concerns. Works closely with instructional support staff to provide input and feedback related to laboratory equipment, tools, and instructional supplies. Promotes the Automated Industrial Technology program through recruitment, mentoring, and outreach efforts, and supports faculty by sharing information related to curriculum updates and program changes. Participates in maintaining an effective advisory board is expected to ensure the program remains aligned with employer and industry needs. Maintains current knowledge in the subject area and effective instructional practices through ongoing professional development, including conferences, seminars, workshops, and training. Assists with budget development by identifying equipment needs, maintenance requirements, and instructional supply priorities. Maintains academic support hours to assist new, prospective, and continuing students and engages in the academic life of the college through participation in campus and district committees. participates in program management activities such as scheduling, program reporting, faculty recruitment, and budgeting. Works with one or more of the following: AC and AC components and circuits, programmable logic controllers, process controls, power electronics and variable frequency drives, and industrial motors and motor controls. Minimum Qualifications Five years of occupational experience in the field to be taught OR Three years of occupational experience in the field to be taught and a Bachelor's degree or higher OR Master's degree or higher in the teaching field OR Master's degree or higher in any field with 18 graduate credits in the teaching field OR Master's degree or higher in any field with a combination of 24 upper division (Junior and Senior level courses in obtaining a Bachelor's degree) and/or graduate credits in the teaching field OR Journeyman certification in the field to be taught Desired Qualifications 1. Teaching experience in the electrical area of the Automated Industrial Technology field. 2. Experience with instructional design and/or curriculum development in one or more of the following areas: DC and AC components and circuits, programmable logic controllers, process controls, power electronics and variable frequency drives, industrial motors and motor controls, or power distribution systems. 3. Five or more years of hands-on, industry experience working with, maintaining, and/or repairing equipment or systems in one or more of the following areas: DC and AC components and circuits, programmable logic controllers, process controls, power electronics and variable frequency drives, industrial motors and motor controls, or power distribution systems. 4. One year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two years. This will be included as a Desired Qualification for all positions.
