Manufacturing Technician
  • 1st & 2nd Shift

  • 23/hr + Shift differential Job Description The Cleanroom Technician supports kitting, filling, and packaging operations for temperature-sensitive products in a controlled cleanroom environment.
This role focuses on precise assembly, operation of specialized process equipment, and accurate labeling to ensure high manufacturing yield and reliable product performance for customers across the United States and internationally. Responsibilities Perform kitting, filling, and packaging operations for manufactured cartridges and prepare them for shipment. Work in a temperature-controlled cleanroom environment to handle products destined for domestic and international customers. Execute filling operations by ensuring the correct product is placed in the correct area of the flow cell according to detailed work instructions. Follow cloud-based work instructions and documentation to complete each step of the process accurately and consistently. Operate heat sealing equipment to seal flow cells with foil, ensuring correct placement and alignment before sealing. Handle flow cells carefully to avoid damage after sealing, minimizing rejects and supporting strong manufacturing yields. Operate labeling equipment to correctly align and label flow cells so that QR codes, lot numbers, and batch record information can be read accurately by downstream equipment. Use cutting equipment to remove excess foil from sealed and labeled flow cells. Operate process equipment such as balances, pneumatic presses, pumps, and heat sealers in accordance with standard operating procedures. Perform simple bulk formulations as needed, following established protocols and documentation. Conduct visual inspections of components and finished products to verify quality and adherence to specifications. Complete batch records and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Lead or support a fill and pack line, helping to coordinate workflow and maintain productivity. Collaborate closely with team members, communicating clearly to ensure smooth operations and timely issue resolution. Use Outlook and Microsoft Teams to communicate, receive instructions, and coordinate daily activities. Follow cleanroom gowning procedures, including use of lab coats, shoe covers, hair nets, and safety glasses as required. Adhere to attendance expectations, including advance reporting of absences and maintaining reliable attendance, especially during the first 30 days. Comply with all safety, quality, and cleanroom protocols to maintain a controlled and compliant work environment. Essential Skills Experience in cleanroom, laboratory, or manufacturing environments, with previous manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to perform assembly, kitting, filling, and packaging tasks with strong attention to detail. Comfort leading or working on a fill and pack line in a production setting. Willingness to learn or comfort with small-volume aliquoting (less than 1 mL). Ability to operate process equipment, including balances, pneumatic presses, pumps, and heat sealers. Capability to follow detailed written work instructions housed in cloud-based applications. Strong visual inspection skills to identify defects and ensure product quality. Ability to complete batch records and labeling tasks accurately, including handling QR codes, lot numbers, and batch information. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues. Strong communication skills to interact clearly and professionally with team members and supervisors. Proficiency using Outlook and Microsoft Teams for communication and coordination. Reliability and commitment to meeting attendance expectations, including limited absences during the first 30 days. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in cleanroom assembly, laboratory work, or inspection roles. Background in manufacturing environments (MFG preferred). Comfort working with temperature-sensitive products and controlled environments. Ability to adapt to changing workflows and support both filling operations and machine operation tasks. Work Environment This role is based in a cleanroom and laboratory-style production environment with temperature control to protect sensitive products. There are two openings on first shift, with regular hours from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The first day will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the first week will follow a 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule before transitioning to the standard shift in the second week. Overtime expectations are currently low, averaging a small percentage of total hours. Contractors will initially work on one site and are expected to transition to a manufacturing site in the Rancho Bernardo area of San Diego, California; candidates should be willing and able to make this commute once the move occurs. The environment requires adherence to cleanroom gowning procedures, including wearing lab coats, shoe covers, hair nets, and safety glasses as needed. Work involves operating laboratory and production equipment, following strict safety and quality protocols, and using digital tools for instructions and communication. Attendance is closely monitored, with a requirement to report unplanned absences at least two hours before the shift and planned absences at least two weeks in advance, and new hires are expected not to miss more than one day in the first 30 days. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00
  • $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
