Job Description

Manufacturing Specialist I Overview The Manufacturing Specialist I provides hands-on technical and process support in a regulated life sciences manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and efficiency. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, analyze production data, support validation activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Support day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve process discrepancies, non-conformances, and production issues on the manufacturing floor Execute and support validation and verification activities in alignment with regulatory and quality requirements Follow and maintain compliance with SOPs, Device History Records (DHRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and other controlled documentation Analyze production and defect data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process improvement Document instrument failures and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality, GIS, and Lifecycle Management teams to resolve technical issues Contribute to continuous improvement efforts using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies Support troubleshooting and testing of next-generation DNA sequencing instrumentation Maintain accurate, organized production records and documentation Communicate effectively to provide updates, escalate issues, and share insights Required Skills Hands-on experience in a manufacturing, lab, or technical support environment Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a process-driven setting Understanding of regulated environments (GMP/GLP or similar) Ability to follow detailed procedures and documentation requirements Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Clear verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications STEM coursework, technical certification, or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or related field Experience in cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments Familiarity with GMP/GLP, MES, SAP, or similar systems Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies Experience with SOPs, DHRs, and regulated documentation Hands-on experience with diagnostic or DNA sequencing instruments Interest in life sciences manufacturing and advanced technologies Work Environment This role operates in a structured, regulated manufacturing environment focused on precision, quality, and continuous improvement. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams while supporting cutting-edge DNA sequencing technology. The environment is collaborative, detail-oriented, and fast-paced, offering strong opportunities for technical growth, exposure to quality systems, and hands-on experience with advanced instrumentation. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
