We are a passionate, hands-on team dedicated to innovation, precision engineering, and quality craftsmanship. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated General Shop Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will be at the heart of our manufacturing process—fabricating, assembling, and testing our light robotic 3D printers. This is a hands-on position that requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a dynamic workshop environment and is eager to contribute to the creation of world-class technology. Competitive compensation based on your skills and experience. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Mechanical Assembly:
Assemble and calibrate 3D printer systems and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings and established quality standards.
Fabrication & Machining:
Perform fabrication tasks including cutting, drilling, welding, grinding, and finishing of components using various hand and power tools.
Electrical & Wiring:
Assist with basic electrical wiring, cable routing, and connector assembly as needed.
Quality Control:
Conduct inspections and functional tests on completed units to ensure they meet performance specifications and quality benchmarks.
Troubleshooting & Repair:
Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during assembly or testing; support field repairs or refurbishments as required.
Workshop Operations:
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; assist with inventory management, shipping/receiving, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
General Support:
Jump in where needed to support the team across various shop tasks and projects.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Hands-on mechanical experience is required. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in a mechanical assembly, manufacturing, fabrication, or technical workshop environment. Proficiency with a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly diagrams. A strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn new skills. Preferred (Bonus): Experience with CAD/CAM software, robotics, automation, or 3D printing technology. Welding, soldering, or basic electrical experience. Familiarity with CNC equipment or laser cutting.
