We currently have multiple Automation Technician openings supporting a leading Medical Device Manufacturing company in Illinois.
Locations:
Buffalo Grove, IL Libertyville, IL Shifts Available:
Buffalo Grove:
6:00 AM•6:00 PM or 6:00 PM•6:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
Libertyville:
8:00 AM•5:00
PM Position:
Automation Technician•
Molding or Assembly Machines Job Summary:
The Automation Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing molding or assembly automation systems, including robotic equipment and auxiliary devices. This role supports high-volume manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated Medical Device environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot molding or assembly automation systems, including robots, conveyors, sensors, and vision systems Diagnose electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues Respond to equipment alarms and faults to minimize downtime Program and optimize robots such as Fanuc, Sepro, Yushin, or Wittmann Modify robot paths and sequences to improve cycle times and product quality Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment Support new product launches, mold trials, and automation setup activities Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives Ensure compliance with safety, ISO, FDA, and GMP requirements
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED 2-5 years of experience supporting injection molding or assembly automation equipment Hands-on experience with robot programming and troubleshooting Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial sensors, and automation controls Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics Experience with EOAT (End-of-Arm Tooling) is preferred Strong troubleshooting and communication skills If this opportunity sounds interesting, please send me your updated resume and availability for a brief discussion.
