Manufacturing Engineering Tech I

Position Purpose:

Support the paint and assembly processes in the facility, troubleshoot and assist in problem isolation and solution. Provide back-up support to the axle and weld/fab departments as needed.

Essential Functions:

Apply concepts and details of gauging, fixtures, and tooling to assist in problem solving. Identify areas in which tooling, cleanliness, operation sequences, or forming consistency can be improved to increase throughput or product quality. Help in maintaining and control programing for all paint/assembly areas. When necessary, help to evaluate existing tooling and fixturing to determine optimum method of repair or improvement. Provide support to production associates as they assume greater responsibility in manufacturing functions

Education & Training:

Five to seven years' experience in manufacturing facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to interpret prints sketches, verbal instructions, and mathematical data to identify tooling, gauging, and fixturing. Excellent mechanical aptitude. AutoCAD experience a plus. Evaluate tooling and fixturing to determine optimum method of repair or improvement. PLC programming knowledge. Shift flexibility is a must. Atlas Copco tooling experience preferred.
