Production Technician (Molecular Assays)Job DescriptionThe Production Technician (Molecular Assays) plays a key role in the precise execution of manufacturing processes used to produce molecular diagnostic products. This position focuses on the preparation, assembly, and packaging of assay components while strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch records, and regulatory requirements. The technician supports high-quality, compliant production in an ISO 9001 and cGMP-regulated environment and collaborates closely with the production team to meet daily and weekly output targets.Responsibilities
- Execute the formulation, filling, and assembly of molecular assay components, including reagents, buffers, and reaction plates, to support consistent production of diagnostic kits
- Strictly follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch records, and work instructions to ensure product quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance
- Operate and maintain laboratory and production equipment, including high-throughput liquid handling systems (such as automated pipetting platforms like Tecan) and lyophilizers or dryers
- Perform both manual and automated pipetting tasks accurately to support assay manufacturing and related production activities
- Complete batch records, equipment logbooks, and inventory records accurately and in real time to maintain a complete and compliant Design History File (DHF)
- Identify and immediately report any process deviations, equipment malfunctions, or material non-conformances to the appropriate production leadership for timely resolution
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of production cleanrooms and laboratory spaces according to established schedules to maintain a controlled and compliant environment
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring raw material levels and ensuring that only released and approved materials are used in the production process
- Support packaging and shipping activities for diagnostic kits and related products, including coordination with shipping and receiving functions as needed
- Work effectively and professionally within the production team to achieve daily and weekly output targets and to support cross-functional collaboration
- Ad to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) requirements, including proper documentation, handling of materials, and use of equipment
- Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory policies while working in both laboratory and office areas, including the use of appropriate protective clothing and equipment
- Perform physical tasks associated with production, including lifting materials, alternating between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as required to complete job responsibilities.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in manual pipetting techniques for accurate handling of reagents and samples
- Proficiency in automated pipetting techniques and experience using automated liquid handling systems
- Experience in a production environment, preferably involving diagnostic kits or related products
- Experience in packaging and shipping processes within a production or laboratory setting
- Familiarity with working in a c

9001, or ISO-regulated environment- Ability to strictly follow complex, multi-step written procedures and work instructions
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, including batch records and equipment logs
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet production schedules
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a professional and proactive attitude
- Capability to lift at least 20 pounds without assistance and perform job duties that require frequent changes in posture
- Entry-level candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques such as PCR and nucleic acid purification
- Experience working in GMP or GLP environments with a focus on SOP-driven operations
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a manufacturing or laboratory context
- Exposure to diagnostic kit manufacturing, including handling of reagents, buffers, and assembled kits
- Experience using microscopes and other standard laboratory equipment
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with internship experience considered a plus
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate Design History Files (DHF) and other regulated documentation
