About the role. The Packaging Equipment Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting packaging machinery to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. This role plays a key part in ensuring that finished products are properly sealed, coded, and meet safety and quality standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. What you'll be doing. Operate and maintain packaging equipment, including case packers, tapers, conveyors, and metal detectors Ensure bags and cases are properly sealed and coded according to specifications Conduct routine quality checks and accurately record results on operator check sheets Troubleshoot equipment issues by observing performance and diagnosing mechanical problems Repair and replace defective parts using hand tools and test equipment performance after adjustments Perform daily cleaning, sanitation, and lubrication of machinery Follow Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures before performing maintenance work Support Lean Manufacturing (McCain Competitive Edge) initiatives across Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (SQCD) Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety policies and reporting hazards Support production demands through flexibility in scheduling, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed What you'll need to be successful. High school diploma or GED required Mechanical aptitude; experience with industrial equipment is an asset Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedures Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, percentages, ratios) Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical issues Willingness to work onsite in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 lbs regularly (up to 60 lbs occasionally) Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills Completion of Operator Training Program certification (required) Basic familiarity or willingness to learn touch screen computer systems About the team. Compensation Package :
- Starting at 23.07 USD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting.
