Job Title:
Manufacturing Technician (BAM Tech II) Job Description The Manufacturing Technician (BAM Tech II) works in a cleanroom environment to execute manufacturing batch records, work instructions, and standard operating procedures with a strong focus on safety, cGMP compliance, and right‑first‑time execution. This role involves handling and mixing chemicals, performing in-process analytical testing, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting equipment maintenance and troubleshooting in a highly regulated production setting. Responsibilities Work in a cleanroom environment while consistently following gowning procedures and contamination control practices. Prepare for and execute manufacturing batch records, work instructions, and SOPs with a focus on safety and right‑first‑time execution and minimal guidance. Weigh, transfer, and mix chemicals accurately according to established procedures and specifications. Document all activities clearly and completely to meet cGMP requirements and internal quality standards. Maintain cGMP compliance in all assigned work and follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment. Complete preventative maintenance tasks and work notifications on time for assigned equipment and areas. Perform equipment testing and routine troubleshooting of process and analytical equipment to support smooth operations. Draft, review, and revise documents such as procedures, work instructions, and batch records as necessary. Run in-process analytical testing as required to support production and product quality. Maintain raw materials inventory using systems such as Kanban and ensure materials are available and properly controlled. Keep training records up to date and complete all required training in a timely manner. Participate in safety inspections, improvement projects, and lean activities to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency. Take part in shift exchanges, one‑on‑one discussions, and team meetings to communicate status, issues, and changes effectively. Support production goals by working extended process runs when necessary, remaining in the core area with the team until critical processes are completed. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a manufacturing and/or cGMP-regulated environment. Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom environment while following strict gowning and contamination control requirements. Strong math skills, including rounding decimals to the tenth or hundredth, multiplying decimals, and performing unit conversions such as grams to liters and milliliters to liters. Ability to accurately follow detailed batch records, work instructions, and SOPs. Capability to handle, weigh, transfer, and mix chemicals safely and precisely. Comfort with documenting work clearly and completely to meet cGMP standards. Ability to perform basic equipment testing and routine troubleshooting of process and analytical equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to right‑first‑time execution. Ability to work 2nd shift (1:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.) on a rotating 2‑2‑2‑3 schedule and remain on task for extended process runs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with aseptic technique is preferred. Prior experience in a cleanroom production environment is beneficial. Familiarity with Kanban or similar inventory management systems is an advantage. Comfort working in a moderate to high noise environment without the use of headphones. Work Environment The role is based in a cleanroom production environment on a regular 2nd shift schedule from 1:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., following a rotating 2‑2‑2‑3 pattern of 10‑hour shifts. On‑the‑job training occurs on 2nd or 3rd shift, depending on trainer availability. The cleanroom requires full gowning procedures and strict adherence to contamination control, which means no beards, artificial eyelashes, artificial nails, nail polish, or other items that could compromise product integrity. The noise level is usually moderate to high, and headphones are not allowed. Certain processes can last up to six hours, during which the team must remain in the core area until the entire process is complete, which is important for individuals with specific dietary or medication needs. The environment is structured, safety‑focused, and highly regulated, with established procedures and equipment to support consistent, high‑quality manufacturing. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $27.03/hr.
