This hybrid role combines responsibilities typically associated with electrical engineering technicians and electronic manufacturing technicians. The successful candidate will participate in prototype development, product assembly, testing, troubleshooting, manufacturing support, and continuous improvement activities for advanced plasma generation systems. The position requires strong technical aptitude, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering and production teams in a fast-paced R D and production environments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Research & Development / Product Development Support Assist engineers with development, assembly, integration, and evaluation of prototype electronic systems and subsystems. Build and modify electrical and electronic assemblies from schematics, drawings, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation. Support experimental testing, data collection, and troubleshooting activities for new product development projects. Assemble breadboards, prototypes, and proof-of-concept devices. PCB assembly/rework including fine-pitch surface-mount components under a microscope. Operate electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, LCR meters, power supplies, and other laboratory instrumentation. Plan and execute bench tests, run controlled experiments, and set up automation for repetitive test procedures. Document test procedures, test results, observations, and engineering changes. Assist with design verification, validation, and reliability testing activities. Collaborate with engineering staff to identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions. Support engineering change implementation and prototype configuration control activities. Manufacturing & Production Support Assemble electronic products, subassemblies, and systems according to manufacturing procedures and work instructions. Load firmware onto microprocessors (e.g., via Atmel Studio or similar toolchains). Configure and use terminal/serial interfaces to monitor system operation, capture logs, and validate performance. Perform functional testing per test plans, collect critical measurements and verify operation against specified parameters. Perform calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of production units. Diagnose electrical and electronic faults on component or subsystem level. Maintain production quality standards and ensure compliance with manufacturing documentation. Assist with incoming inspection, final inspection, and quality assurance activities. Participate in development and improvement of manufacturing processes, fixtures, test procedures, and assembly documentation. Maintain accurate production and test records. Support inventory control and organization of electronic components, tools, and production materials. Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized laboratory and production environment. Required Qualifications Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, or related field; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered. Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in electronics assembly, testing, troubleshooting, or manufacturing support. Hands-on experience in PCB assembly, including advanced SMT soldering and rework skills under a microscope (fine-pitch, small packages), PCB testing and troubleshooting.
