Job Description

Position Summary The Bakery Equipment Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining bakery production equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations. This role supports daily production by minimizing downtime and ensuring all machinery operates properly in compliance with company safety and quality standards. Duties & Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on bakery machinery and production equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues. Maintain mixers, ovens, proofers, conveyors, slicers, packaging machines, and other bakery equipment. Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures. Install and test new equipment and machinery as needed. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and repair records. Ensure compliance with OSHA, food safety, and company safety regulations. Work closely with production staff to identify and resolve equipment concerns. Order and manage maintenance parts and supplies when necessary. Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and safe. Assist with facility maintenance projects as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training preferred. Previous experience in industrial maintenance, bakery manufacturing, or food production equipment preferred. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of PLCs, motors, conveyors, and automated equipment is a plus. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, or dusty production environments. Comfortable using ladders, hand tools, and power tools.
