As a Manufacturing Technician, you will work in a team environment within LANL's nuclear facility to manufacture product, support material movement and support glove box operations. The majority of the daily work is "hands-on" glovebox work in support of plutonium processing. Processes at Los Alamos National Laboratory are performed in PF-4 using Detailed Operating Procedures (DOPs) and Integrated Work Documents (IWDs) to produce quality products. This position requires knowledge and experience using Conduct of Operations, nuclear criticality safety, material control and accountability, radiological safety, and environment compliance requirements. Work directly relates to national security objectives, requiring the individual to protect and maintain sensitive or classified information.   • $82,500) You will be trained to perform several tasks that could include manufacturing operations in the areas of plutonium processing, metal processing, casting, vacuum equipment operations, welding, mechanical assembly, leak testing, equipment troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
You will use a variety of bench-top equipment and ensure all work, materials, processes, and final product meet quality specifications and are completed according to established requirements. Working with radioactive and hazardous materials will also be an integral part of your job. You will be responsible for writing and maintaining records, following detailed operating procedures and integrated work documents, writing concise progress reports, and interacting with support organizations and performing transactions on the nuclear material tracking computer system.   • Today What You Will Do The Advanced Practice Clinician 2 will work as a key staff member of the Occupational Health organization to promote worker health and wellbeing at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
The Advanced Practice Clinician will be expected to provide exceptional service at the worker, organizational and institutional level. Education/Experience:
Position requires a minimum of 2 to 5 years of recent clinical experience in occupational medicine or in a clinically related field (family medicine, emergency/urgent care medicine, internal medicine, or sports medicine).

  • Current certification for National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners through FMCSA.

  • Today What You Will Do The Beam Operations Team supports the Accelerator Operations and Technology (AOT) Division, within the Operations Group (AOT-OPS) and is responsible for operating the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center's (LANSCE) proton accelerator.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced operator to serve as an Alternate Operations Shift Supervisor. This position requires working rotating shifts on a modified workweek schedule, 8-12 months a year.
Principal responsibilities will be:
  • In the absence of the Operations Shift Supervisor (OSS), will take full responsibility for the safe and reliable operation of the accelerator and beam delivery complex while it is under their operational control.
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain complex operating configurations within specified operating and safety envelopes.
  • Operate all elements of the beam transport, acceleration and delivery systems including all ancillary systems required for LANSCE accelerator operation.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repair efforts.
  • Serve as a focal point for communications among everyone involved with the LANSCE accelerator complex, including operators, scientists, engineers, technicians, administrators and experimenters. This also will include determining whom to contact in order to repair malfunctioning equipment.
  • In the absence of the OSS, function as the Emergency Coordinator (EC) at the scene of an emergency until relieved by an appropriate controlling authority who is acting as Incident Commander (IC).
  • Support the ongoing training and qualification of junior operators.
What You Need Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge of accelerator operations procedures and policies that are used to determine appropriate action needed to resolve complex problems in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply cross-disciplined (mechanical, electrical, radio frequency, instrumentation and control, and physics) knowledge and a practical understanding of equipment and systems theory and principles.
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in recommending solutions to problems affecting systems and/or equipment.
