Job Description

Job Title:
Production Technician Job Description This role focuses on the disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and testing of pumps and related mechanical assemblies in an industrial service environment. You will work a Monday through Friday schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and play a key part in ensuring equipment is serviced accurately, safely, and efficiently while following established procedures and documentation standards. Responsibilities Disassemble, clean, and reassemble pumps and related mechanical components according to established procedures and instructions. Receive pumps from customers or internal departments, generate parts orders, and perform detailed teardown and condition reports. Document all observations during disassembly and prepare clear, accurate failure analysis reports. Test and troubleshoot assemblies and final systems to verify proper operation and identify issues. Perform rework and quality testing on assemblies and systems as needed to meet quality standards. Maintain, inspect, and replace equipment, tools, and supplies used for servicing pumps to ensure they remain in safe and proper working condition. Check power and hand tools for proper operation before and after use and report any defects or concerns. Follow all written procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines throughout the assembly and service processes. Communicate issues, abnormalities, and improvement opportunities promptly to leads or supervisors. Handle heavy lifting and general labor tasks associated with pump service, assembly line work, and industrial construction-type activities. Support cleanliness and organization in work areas, including partial cleanroom environments, to maintain a safe and efficient workspace. Consistently demonstrate reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how mechanical systems and components function. Experience or strong comfort with mechanical assembly, including working with pumps or similar equipment. Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Troubleshooting skills to identify issues during testing and assembly processes. Capability to perform heavy lifting, including regularly lifting 35+ pounds. Comfort working in an industrial environment, including partial cleanroom areas. Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Strong attendance, reliability, and willingness to work a Monday through Friday schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Clear communication skills to report findings, issues, and status updates to leads or supervisors. Positive attitude and openness to learning and following detailed procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mechanical work experience in a service, repair, or maintenance environment. Experience in pump service, industrial equipment service, or similar mechanical systems. Sandblasting experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Exposure to high-tech environments, including cleanroom operations. Construction or general labor experience, especially involving heavy lifting and use of tools. Assembly line experience in a production or manufacturing facility. General warehouse or industrial work experience. Willingness to grow into more advanced technical roles over time. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in an industrial service environment that includes both standard shop areas and partial cleanroom sections. You will work on-site, Monday through Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The work involves regular use of hand tools and power tools, along with handling pumps and other mechanical equipment. You must be comfortable with heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing physically demanding tasks. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and may include items such as safety glasses, gloves, and other protective gear appropriate to the work area. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to procedures, particularly in cleanroom-adjacent areas, where maintaining a tidy and organized workspace is essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hillsboro, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
