This Lab Technician Lead role is responsible for leading daily operations in the destructive testing laboratory while performing hands-on testing and ensuring all quality standards are met. This Lab Technician Lead role requires strong leadership, technical testing knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced quality-focused manufacturing environment. Lab Technician Lead:

Lead and coordinate daily activities of lab technicians as a Lab Technician Lead Perform destructive testing procedures including tensile testing, Charpy testing, hardness testing, and other ASTM-based tests Ensure all testing is completed accurately and in compliance with specifications as a Lab Technician Lead Maintain and verify calibration of laboratory and measurement equipment throughout the mill Prepare, document, and interpret technical specifications and test results Support sample preparation using basic machine shop tools and equipment Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and housekeeping standards Communicate results and reports using basic software and Outlook systems Support internal teams and customer requirements as a Lab Technician Lead Required Skills for the

Lab Technician Lead:

Experience in a destructive testing laboratory environment (required) Ability to perform ASTM testing procedures including tensile, Charpy, and hardness testing Strong leadership ability to guide and support lab technicians Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and quality standards Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Experience with measurement tools and calibration processes Basic computer skills including Outlook and web-based systems Preferred Experience for the

Lab Technician Lead:

Machine shop or sample preparation experience Familiarity with quality standards, codes, and acceptance/rejection criteria Prior experience in steel, pipe manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments

Education:

High school diploma required Post-secondary education preferred but not required
