The Amentum Space Exploration Division (ASED) Manufacturing Producibility Technician will support the production of the Space Launch System (SLS) vehicle. Most of the work will be on-site at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center but some travel (expected to be less than 20%) will be required to support production at Michoud Assembly Facility and Kennedy Space Center.
Position responsibilities include:
Review production plans and provide guidance and recommendations as necessary to facilitate the production of the SLS. Participate in production planning meetings and provide guidance and recommendations to the production leads and project office leadership to facilitate the production of the SLS. Review drawings for producibility, redline as necessary and approve as appropriate. Review facilities modifications and provide recommendations regarding producibility and workflow. Review tooling designs for machining and fabrication and provide recommendations to optimize producibility. Qualifications Typically, educational requirement is a High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or equivalent; at least 15 years of experience and continuing education, or an Associate's Degree or equivalent and at least 10 years of experience. The candidate is required to have outstanding technical and leadership qualifications in one or more of the following areas: Experience with performing and/or supervising manufacturing processes including tool design, machining, welding and equipment maintenance. Experience with performing and/or supervising metal processes including heat treating and hot isostatic pressing. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Technical leadership in aerospace disciplines Highly organized with demonstrated skills to simultaneously coordinate and work multiple projects to full completion. It is desirable for the candidate to have: Experience specking-out and purchasing manufacturing equipment. Experience working for NASA supporting the Space Launch System. Experience with project management. Experience with process control and risk mitigation.
