Team Leader About the Job At JTEKT Automotive Tennessee Vonore, our Production Technicians are essential to delivering the high-quality products our customers depend on every day. In this role, you will work hands-on in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment, assembling components, operating equipment, and ensuring each product meets strict quality and safety standards. You will play a key part in keeping production flowing by performing a variety of assembly tasks, identifying defects, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. This role requires focus, teamwork, and attention to detail, as well as a commitment to safety and quality in everything you do. Operate production equipment and assemble components while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency standards are consistently met. Essential Duties and Accountabilities Operate equipment, air tools, and gauges to assemble components safely Install, insert, torque, purge, wipe, and inspect parts for quality and cosmetic defects Operate production machines and monitor performance Visually inspect parts for defects such as porosity, roughness, or imperfections Perform 5S activities including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining work areas Read and understand work instructions, charts, graphs, and measuring devices Utilize the Andon system to report malfunctions or quality concerns Rotate through multiple production processes and loops Replenish and stock parts as needed Become efficient across multiple workstations/processes Participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required Perform other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong attention to detail and quality focus Basic math skills Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment Ability to read and interpret work instructions and visual information Strong concentration and task focus Ability to work independently within a team environment Basic knowledge of quality, safety, and environmental systems Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Work Environment and Physical Demands Stand and walk for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, lift up to 32 pounds, and complete detailed inspection and assembly tasks in a manufacturing setting.Similar remote jobs
