Job Description

Tesla Automation is seeking Manufacturing Engineering Technicians to support the installation, alignment, commissioning, and production ramp-up of advanced manufacturing equipment. In this role, you will work within a cross-functional team to deliver high-performance automation systems that enable world-leading vehicle production across multiple sites. Lead end-to-end equipment setup and commissioning including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic integration, rigging, alignment, power-on sequencing, I/O verification, functional testing, and qualification Execute equipment upgrades, retrofits, and modifications in partnership with engineering and production teams to improve machine performance and reliability Apply structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis using 5-why, fishbone diagrams, and FMEA to resolve equipment and process issues and implement effective CAPA Collaborate with engineering, production, and design teams to align project goals, resolve issues, and ensure consistent execution across the manufacturing lifecycle Enforce safety and EHS compliance by following protocols, supporting safety buyoffs, and maintaining a hazard-free work environment 4 or more years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic technology, or equivalent experience Experience installing and maintaining manufacturing equipment Experience assembling equipment from mechanical and electrical engineering drawings and specifications Proficiency in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills Commitment to safety protocols and EHS compliance in a manufacturing environment Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program
