The Gritline operator applies a secondary finish to different components as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Position requires the ability to count, measure, and weigh materials accurately. Requires heavy lifting on a daily basis of 50 pounds and up to 100 lbs. Position requires quality oriented, safety minded and service oriented individuals. Requires learning/knowledge of hazardous material handling. Preparation of Gritline equipment for daily operations. The gritline operators prepare grit mixes, sealers, and correct grit types and amounts into batches and then proceeds with the proper gritting cycles. He/She make minor adjustments to equipment, and/ or cycle to obtain a quality product. The gritline operator insures that all that all the products meet quality standards. This position must learn and understand Fibergrate mixes and material identification. Housekeeping in and around equipment, buildings on a daily basis and where ever it is required. Position requires learning all SOP's pertaining to this area for individual files.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES SKILLS
Warehouse competencies but willing to train.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and/or correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to managers and co-workers of the organization. Training is provided for the production process.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
General Plant Policy General Safety SOP's for department Other Training As Required
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Detail oriented.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The associate must have the ability to use basic math skills such as add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers. Ability to use measuring tapes and other recording instruments is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be willing and able to obtain internal forklift qualifications and CCT qualified when chosen.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to do the following Must be able to walk, bend, stand, and climb stairs for 8-12-hour shifts. Must be able to use hand trucks and carts to push and pull loads > 100 lbs. Must have ability to lift and carry loads ≥ 50 lbs. Must have ability to safely operate and safely mount and dismount forklifts. Position requires dexterity of hands and fingers to use machinery and handle items. The position requires an ability to tolerate hot/cold environments with adequate rest breaks and water provided.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The working conditions are in a manufacturing environment. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors and weather. Covered environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures/and routine exposure to artificial heating elements that produce radiant heat.
