About Off Highway Van Off Highway Van (OHV) designs and builds premium overland camper vans on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter platform. Every van is engineered and manufactured in our Salt Lake City facility with a focus on durability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement. As we continue to expand our in-house manufacturing capabilities, we are looking for team members who enjoy building high-quality products and solving hands-on manufacturing challenges. Position Summary Off Highway Van is seeking an Internal Manufacturing Technician to support the production of critical subassemblies used throughout our camper van platforms. This role will focus on the assembly of sheet metal products, fabrication of electrical harnesses, electrical component installation, fabric application, and mechanical assembly of plumbing and glycol system components. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working from engineering drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing Leadership while helping expand OHV's in-house manufacturing capabilities. Responsibilities Assemble sheet metal and mechanical subassemblies using engineering drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials. Build and test complex electrical wiring harnesses, including wire cutting, labeling, terminal crimping, connector assembly, and continuity verification. Perform electrical component assembly utilizing industry-standard crimping tools and wiring practices. Apply fabric and soft goods to ACM panels and interior components while maintaining cosmetic quality standards. Assemble glycol tank systems and plumbing subassemblies, including hose routing, fitting installation, leak testing, and final inspection. Inspect incoming and manufactured components to ensure conformance with engineering specifications and quality standards. Assist in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, fixtures, and work instructions. Perform in-process and final quality inspections and accurately document results. Collaborate with Engineering to identify root causes and implement corrective actions when issues arise. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following 5S principles. Support new product introductions and prototype builds as required. Required Skills & Qualifications 2+ years of manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or mechanical production experience. Experience using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring equipment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and bills of materials. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Experience with electrical assembly, wire termination, crimping, and connector installation. Ability to identify and troubleshoot assembly issues while maintaining quality standards. Comfortable standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a manufacturing environment. Positive attitude and willingness to learn new manufacturing processes. Preferred Qualifications Experience building wiring harnesses and electrical assemblies. Familiarity with Deutsch connectors, wire labeling, continuity testing, and electrical troubleshooting. Experience with plumbing systems, fluid transfer systems, or hose assembly. Experience applying fabric, upholstery, laminates, or composite finishing materials. Experience in automotive, aerospace, RV, marine, or outdoor product manufacturing. Knowledge of quality systems, inspection processes, and continuous improvement methodologies. Forklift certification or warehouse experience is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits Pay:
$22-$27 per hour, depending on experience
