Location US-WA-Bremerton Seat Location EB Puget Sound (Bremerton), WA Trade Manufacturing Support/Trades Shift 1st, 2nd, 3rd Security Clearance Required Secret Overview The Offsite Maintenance and Modernization (M&M) Office in Puget is hiring Manufacturing Technicians. This position is responsible for performing submarine shipboard and manufacturing work to support new construction and maintenance efforts within the shipyard and shop environments. A Manufacturing Technician is a multi-disciplined person that must have one or more skills within the trades such as Welders, Electricians, Pipefitters, Shipfitters, Inside / Outside Machinists and Sheetmetal workers. The ideal candidate will cultivate and promote a positive TEAM environment, be highly motivated, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and drive innovation and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will establish and maintain strong working relationship with the AIT team to ensure performance in safety, quality, schedule, and cost. This individual will work collaboratively with on-site supervision to achieve department goals and requires a strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and accountability to achieve overall success. Travel will be required to offsite locations to support coordination and oversight of related activities. Key Responsibilities Develop, enhance and be willing to learn new skillsets; Applying with appropriate training Promote a collaborative and team environment to meet organizational goals Collaborate with operations, engineering, design, material, quality and other support organizations as necessary Possess an energetic and positive attitude and be willing to change and develop as the requirements of assigned tasks dictate Monitor and improve workplace climate; reinforce desired workforce values behaviors; maintain morale Travel to other shipyards in the continental United States is required. Must be willing to accept extended work assignments. The organization is a traveling team Support work outside normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Shift work and emergency overtime may be required Expected to know, comply with and participate in site improvement goals for
Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Continuous Improvement Qualifications Required:
High School Diploma or GED 1+ years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, and manufacturing industry OR successfully completed a recognized welding school training Travel to other shipyards in the continental United States and the Far East is required Required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays Required to perform shift work and emergency overtime as work dictates Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance or higher Ability to use
NAVSEA/SP
ships drawings, technical manuals, ship system manuals and various other documents in the performance of this task is a must Must have the ability to perform the functions of the craft to the proper procedures and policies in a safe manner Must be able to qualify and maintain Respiratory Protection certification Must be able to qualify and maintain Fall Arrest Protection certification Must be able to qualify and maintain Lifting & Handling / Industrial Trucks certification Must be able to qualify and maintain the EB Heavy Metals Program requirements Selected candidates must be able to pass a practical exam for position applied
Preferred:
2+ years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, and manufacturing industry Minimum of 1 year working in an industrial marine environment Past experience working in Naval Shipyard environment Knowledge of MDP's, MDD's, SDD's and DI'sProficient in ATA, Lotus Notes, Cornerstone, PQSTrade background or technical apprenticeship training Military service Experience with Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, Sheet metal, Welding processes and installation of multiple ship systems on Trident, 688, Seawolf and Virginia class submarines Skills Highly organized with the ability to multitask within a constantly changing environment Strong coordination skills across multiple disciplines and functional areas Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical correspondence Strong communicator with the ability to balance priorities Experience with Welding Techniques sheets, MDDs, SDDs and DI's The successful candidate will be expected to know, comply with and participate in site improvement goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Continuous Improvement Physical Qualifications Climbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Heavy Lifting, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting Environmental Attributes Acids or Alkalis, Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Oily, Outside, Wet Join our talent pools, get job alerts, and see EB news We can recommend jobs specifically for you!
