POSITION OVERVIEW
The Yarn Operator for Spinning in Washougal, WA, oversees various processes to ensure high-quality output. They maintain safety while meeting performance goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor spinning frames to ensure the yarn is moving smoothly through the process and not breaking. When yarn breaks, repair the loose ends. Unload and transport spools of roving, bobbins of yarn, and loose yarn to designated areas as needed. Maintain a clean work area and clean equipment. Seek opportunities to improve safety and quality in all manufacturing processes. Cross-train in various sections of yarn production to adapt efficiently to changing needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Stand, walk, twist, and crouch as needed during the entire shift (breaks and meals excluded). Lift up to 10 pounds frequently and 25 pounds occasionally. Employees are never expected to lift any loads if doing so is unsafe or too high a risk. Push and pull wheeled carts containing products weighing up to 200 pounds short distances. Ability to safely run a hand truck to move bales of wool up to 450 pounds.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Two or more years of production experience preferred. Any combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the job is acceptable.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Humid work environment Exposure to wool fibers and dust Loud work environment: hearing protection is required in all areas of yarn manufacturing. Non-slip shoes are required; reimbursement programs are available.
BENEFITS
Eight (8)-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime on Saturday. Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance are available after sixty days of employment, with competitive employer contribution. 401K matching Non-occupational Disability Insurance is available after ninety days of employment. 2nd shift 3:00 PM-11:30 PM M-F or 3rd shift 11:00 PM-7:30 AM M-F Wages and annual increases are provided in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. Shift differential on 2nd and 3rd shifts. Eligible employees receive nine (9) paid holidays, medical, dental, prescription drug coverage, short-term disability benefits, vision care reimbursement, shoe reimbursement, and a 401(k) retirement plan with Company matching contributions up to $750 annually, plus an annual employer fixed contribution of $1,300. Employees also begin accruing sick leave and vacation time starting on their first day of employment.
