Job Description
The Folder Line Operator sets up, operates, maintains and troubleshoots the Folder Line machine by performing the following duties: Reading and interpreting work orders to determine and confirm exact set up specifications including color, model, quantities, etc. to ensure job meets quality requirements. Set up, operate, troubleshoot and maintain the Folder Line machine. Performs machine set ups including attaching printing plates on printing cylinders. Change rolls, dies and gears per work order. Troubleshoots and makes machine adjustments during production run as necessary. Performs routine maintenance as necessary. Monitors quality which includes checking measurements. Inspect and pack product before advancing to shipping or other departments. Maintains machinery in working condition by performing routine and scheduled maintenance. Produce expected levels of throughput. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience and a minimum of 2 years printing operations in a manufacturing environment. Good hand-eye coordination. Must have a keen eye for color. Must be able to use hand tools. Experience with machine operation and set up is required. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance. Must be able to work independently. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with an ever-changing number of variables relating to folders. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, or schedule form. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must have the ability to read and interpret a ruler.
