Role:
As a member of the Production Team this role is key to making world class products for our clients. Operating machinery and hand tools such as grinders, rollers to apply resin and catalyst to mold surfaces, roving and chopped fiberglass used in manufacturing fibreglass pipe, fittings or other products.
Responsibilities:
Measuring, cutting, and applying Fiberglass to molds for the production of tanks and other specialty equipment Performs work associated with the cutting, measuring, grinding and fit up of components for Fiberglass Tanks Tests and inspects machines to determine safe and efficient operation, performs routine maintenance, and fixes standard malfunctions Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation Checks that items produced pass quality control test Lay out, position, fit various piping and structural components, including pipes, flanges, fittings, elbows, etc., in accordance with the supplied tank fabrication drawings. Participate in JSAs and all other Safety, Health and Environmental Processes and completes appropriate documentation. Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma required. Technical certificate, diploma or equivalent an asset. Three to five years' experience in a manufacturing or construction environment would be an asset. Fiberglass Weld certification and Hydro Testing experience a plus Good mechanical aptitude, basic math skills required: read tape measure, blueprints, calipers, fractions and decimals Mechanical repair, carpentry, pipefitting, and/or fiberglass laminating skills a plus Ability to follow safety, quality and production requirements and standards Ability to use or learn safe usage of standard hand power tools Reliable with good attendance and takes ownership, pride in work Demonstrate a good working attitude, enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills and the business Ability to work without direct supervision at times as well as within a team Ability to communicate and work well with others, maintain respectful, positive interactions Willing to work flexible hours and over time (if required) Must be able to pass pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol screening.
Additional Information:
Ability to work 10 hours standing, reaching and moving. Normal shift is 6:00AM to 4:30 PM
  • Monday through Thursday.
Ability to safely lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds
