Job Description

Manufacturing Technician - 3rd Shift M-F 11pm-7:30am Job Description The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for preparing small batches of material for commercialization. Each day begins with a team meeting to establish priorities, and the role involves assisting with two primary processes: extracting enzymes from pig glands and using laboratory equipment such as column chromatography and UV spectrophotometry to scale small-batch products for commercial readiness. Responsibilities Handle raw materials, including pituitary glands and pig hearts, ensuring quality assurance release and proper storage. Assist with production scheduling and verify material availability. Prepare and maintain the manufacturing area, including cleaning and changeovers. Execute pilot-scale and commercial processes such as extractions, mixing, and powder finishing. Operate equipment, including processing tanks, temperature-controlled vessels, vacuum/pressurized systems, and HMIs (touchscreen control systems). Monitor process parameters, such as temperature and timing, and follow established procedures. Essential Skills High School Diploma or GED 6+ months of experience in GMP or pharmaceutical environments Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate degree or above in Biotechnology field preferred 2+ years of experience preferred within GMP or pharmaceutical settings Familiarity with cleanroom and aseptic techniques Work Environment This role operates within a laboratory and pharmaceutical manufacturing environment consisting of one large suite and 3-4 smaller suites with benchtops. The facility is spread across one floor with areas throughout, including one area with 3 flights of stairs. The schedule involves working weekdays from 11 pm to 7:30 am (Sunday night to Friday), with an initial shift on 2nd shift (3 pm to 11:30 pm) for at least the first 3 months. Employees receive a $2.00/hour schedule incentive and a $1.50/hour 3rd shift differential. The company offers medical, dental, and vision benefits starting on the first day of employment, along with basic life insurance, short-term disability, and options for voluntary life insurance and long-term disability coverage. A 401k plan is available upon hire with company contributions, alongside 160 hours of vacation, 40 hours of sick time (pro-rated based on hire date), and 9 paid holidays. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Waunakee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $51160.00/yr. Employees are eligible for Medical, Dental and Vision on day 1 of employment. The company provides Basic Life insurance, Basic AD&D insurance along with Short-term disability on all full-time employees. Employees have the option to elect Voluntary Life, Voluntary AD&D along with Long-term disability coverage. Health and Flexible spending account options. Full-time employees can contribute to their 401k upon hire and are eligible for a company contribution. 160 hours of vacation & 40 hours of sick time (both pro-rated base on hire date) and 9 paid holidays.
