Job Description
Troy University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position hosted in the College of Science and Engineering. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher with a strong background in semiconductor plasmonics, energy harvesting devices, photonics and computational electromagnetics.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct independent and collaborative research in Photonics, semiconductor plasmonics and energy harvesting technologies. Establish and manage a new optoelectronics laboratory, including equipment setup and operations. Contribute to and support grant writing efforts, including preparation of proposals and reports. Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate student researchers in relevant projects. Teach one introductory course in Electrical and Electronic Engineering per semester. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related field. Demonstrated expertise in plasmonics, semiconductor science, energy harvesting, and computational electromagnetics (e.g., FDTD, COMSOL). Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques and optical characterization methods; experience with laboratory setup and instrumentation is highly desirable. Strong publication record in Optics, Optoelectronics, plasmonics, nanophotonics, or semiconductor devices Experience in grant writing and research proposal development, with a strong track record or demonstrated interest in academic publishing and securing external funding. Teaching experience or strong interest in undergraduate education. Preferred Qualifications
