Job Summary Join our team in Glendale, AZ, a vibrant city known for its dynamic community and proximity to the beautiful landscapes of Arizona. We are seeking a skilled professional with expertise in welding engineering to enhance our manufacturing capabilities and contribute to our innovative projects. This role offers a competitive salary with a 12.5% yearly bonus and potential relocation assistance. We are seeking candidates who are familiar with welding fixtures including Orbital welding, GTAW orbital welding on super alloy or inconel material. This position does require candidates to have experience in the aerospace field. Key Responsibilities Develop and approve welding and/or brazing techniques, procedures, and equipment applications in the manufacturing process. Monitor and troubleshoot weld and vacuum braze issues, supporting process yield improvement efforts. Prepare and evaluate metallurgical samples for production implementation validation. Provide technical guidance on welding and metallurgy to design, manufacturing, and quality engineers, as well as manufacturing floor associates and supervisors. Work with the Quality team to create and coordinate testing activities and reporting requirements. Provide technical guidance and expertise on welding and heat treatment-related issues to the Manufacturing Engineering team. Collaborate with Product Engineers in the design and development of new products. Work with Manufacturing and Engineering to explore potential applications for welding in future technology savings to meet customer requirements. Develop procedures and work instructions related to the welding process based on best practices. Engage in continuous improvement activities to enhance throughput and machine uptime. Lead structured problem-solving events to improve first-pass yield. Select and document appropriate welding equipment and settings. Communicate with other departments to coordinate activities, eliminate problems, and facilitate workflow. Conduct training in welding-related matters as a subject matter expert. Engage in the welding industry to evaluate new developments for possible application. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Materials Sciences, Metallurgy, or a related technical field with a focus on welding/heat treatment preferred. Minimum of 7 years of related experience. Extensive experience with weld and surface treatment processes, surface treatment technology, and applications engineering. Detailed understanding of gas tungsten arc welding/tungsten inert gas process and variables. Knowledgeable in production specifications, properties, and characteristics of stainless steel and high nickel alloys. Experience with electron beam (EB) welding preferred. Detailed understanding of vacuum brazing and its variables.
