  • The Company is seeking a 2nd shift motivated collaborative associate or experienced Composites M&P (Materials and Processes) Engineer to join our Composite Materials Fabrication Site in Mesa, Arizona.

We're looking for a motivated, collaborative engineer—either early-career or experienced—who's passionate about composites, polymer chemistry, failure analysis, and production problem-solving.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the efficient production of our world-class aerospace products, including advanced platforms for our Air Proprietary programs What you'll do
  • Apply chemistry, physics, and material science to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods
  • Provide technical evaluation and material and process support to composite part fabrication
  • Perform root-cause investigations and implement corrective & preventive actions for material and process issues
  • Create and execute test plans, write reports and input to specifications for materials, tools, and processes
  • Qualify and approve equipment, materials and processes
  • Guide material testing in the Materials & Processes Laboratory
  • Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement
  • Travel to suppliers as needed
  • Integrate new technologies and promote standardization across product lines
  • Manage test/audit programs, ensure regulatory and contractual compliance, and incorporate EHS, LEAN, and Quality principles into your work
  • This role is full-time 2nd shift and is expected to be 100% onsite
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
(And a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years' experience or a Master's degree
Preferred Skills:
  • 1+ years working with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques (Level 2 or 3 applies based on years of experience)
  • Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniques
  • Familiarity with materials such as epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesives
  • Experience with composite failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and failure analysis.
  • Experience in technical specifications, reports, and test plans
  • Comfortable reading engineering drawings and using Microsoft Office
  • Experience in creating and delivering technical presentations and briefings
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
