Position Summary:
The High Purity Stainless Steel Welder Foreman is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily activities of the high-purity welding team while also performing advanced welding work as needed. This role ensures that welding operations meet strict quality, cleanliness, and production standards required for high-purity stainless steel systems. The Foreman provides technical guidance, ensures adherence to weld procedures and specifications, and promotes a safe and efficient fabrication environment.
Essential Functions:
- Lead, coordinate, and support the daily activities of high-purity stainless steel welders.
- Assign tasks, monitor workflow, and ensure projects meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Perform advanced GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) welding on high-purity stainless steel tubing, piping, and components as needed.
- Ensure all welding is performed in accordance with approved weld procedures, drawings, and customer specifications.
- Oversee proper material preparation, fit-up, purge procedures, and cleanliness requirements for high-purity systems.
- Review weld quality and provide guidance to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Train, mentor, and support welders to promote skill development and consistent workmanship.
- Coordinate with engineering, project management, and quality teams to resolve fabrication or welding issues.
- Ensure proper documentation, weld logs, and traceability requirements are completed.
- Able to work overtime as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience welding stainless steel in a high-purity or sanitary fabrication environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in GTAW (TIG) welding on thin-wall stainless steel tubing and piping.
- Experience performing sanitary and orbital welds.
- Previous leadership, lead welder, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and isometric drawings.
- Strong understanding of purge welding, contamination control, and high-purity fabrication practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, semiconductor, or food & beverage process systems.
- Welding certifications (AWS, ASME, or equivalent).
- Experience with orbital welding equipment and programming.
- Familiarity with ASME BPE or sanitary welding standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to operate a forklift safely.
- Ability to stand, bend, and work in a fabrication environment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and precision required for welding tasks.
