Role Overview Mitsubishi Power has a Welding Engineering team (under the Outage, Technology, and Processes group), providing a critical value to the organization and its stakeholders. Due to the continuing need to support our customer outages, Mitsubishi Power is recruiting an intern for the purpose of supporting critical welding engineering projects.

This summer internship will expose the intern to various aspects of manufacturing, welding processes, and repair work as it relates to supporting critical customer projects. Key Responsibilities Support welding engineering team by developing and implementing key tools and documentation needed for customer support. Assist in rotor welding repairs, providing support as needed at the SMW facility Learn and work with cross-functional teams to gain valuable practical and engineering experience from multiple disciplines. Work closely with Welding and Materials Process Development Specialist to support key welding and brazing qualifications. Requirement Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree (BS) discipline in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or other internal customers Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Knowledge of database software; project management software; spreadsheet software and word processing software; electronic mail; graphics; technical diagrams; flow charts, etc. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products What You'll Gain Real-World experience in engineering processes. Hands-on experience helping solve critical customer problems. Experience within the manufacturing and engineering industry. Mentorship from experienced engineering and manufacturing personnel.
