Central Illinois- A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled
- Metallurgist
- to support brass foundry operations and drive continuous improvement in alloy development, casting quality, and process performance. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to optimize manufacturing processes and solve complex metallurgical challenges.
- Key Responsibilities
- + Lead metallurgical analysis and process improvements in melting, casting, heat treatment, and machining operations.
+ Investigate and reduce casting defects, including porosity and inclusions. + Develop and optimize brass alloys to improve product performance and manufacturability. + Drive scrap reduction, yield improvement, and overall process efficiency. + Conduct root cause analysis and support quality investigations. + Apply statistical methods to improve process consistency and performance. + Train and support operations personnel on metallurgical best practices. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product and process innovation initiatives.
- Qualifications
- + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
+ 4+ years of metallurgical experience in a manufacturing environment. + Direct experience in brass foundry operations required. + Strong knowledge of heat treatment, solidification, defect analysis, and alloy development. + Experience applying metallurgical principles to practical manufacturing improvements.

Base pay:
$110k-$130k with bonus. Full benefits including health, life, dental and vision. Will provide full relocation.
