Job Description

Warner Bodies manufactures a wide variety of utility truck bodies, rescue vehicles, and custom truck bodies in Elwood, Indiana. Warner Bodies is hiring an experienced Welding Technician and Trainer who can ensure proper welding procedures, safety and welder maintenance standards are being followed. The ideal candidate will have in depth knowledge of AWS standards, experience repairing Miller welders, experience leading teams in an industrial setting and be able to train and mentor entry level welders. Ability to MIG and TIG on Steel and Aluminum, read tape measures and interpret blueprints is required. Experience in sheet metal fabrication is preferred.
Minimum Requirements:
10 years Welding experience on Steel and Aluminum. 5 years experience repairing Miller welders. High school diploma or GED. Welding technology certification or AWS certification preferred. Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
Welding Technician/Trainer daily activities:
1.
Maintenance:
Equipment tracking•Excel spreadsheet. Daily/Weekly/Monthly inspections. Setup, Troubleshoot and Repair of Miller Welder. 2.
Training/Quality:
Training welders to industry welding standards. Welding competency tracking•Excel spreadsheet. Basic onboarding/orientation to shop. Follow up with Quality issues. Assist in error proofing processes. 3.
Interviewing:
Conducting/evaluating weld tests. 4. Custom Fabrication Design and build fixtures as needed. Assist with custom equipment builds as needed.
Pay:
$65,000.00•$75,000.00 per year
