This role ensures compliance with industry standards, improves weld quality, and drives continuous improvement in productivity and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities :
Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) in accordance with applicable codes (e.g., ASME, AWS). Provide technical support to production teams for welding-related issues. Evaluate and select appropriate welding equipment, materials, and techniques. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for weld defects. Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to improve product design for weldability. Monitor and improve welding performance metrics (quality, efficiency, cost). Train and mentor welding personnel, including welders and inspectors. Support audits and maintain welding documentation and records. Stay updated on new welding technologies and industry advancements.Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Experience with welding processes such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or robotic welding. Knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., AWSD1.1, ASME
Section IX). Strong understanding of metallurgy and material properties. Experience with inspection methods (NDT, visual inspection, etc.). Proficiency in CAD and manufacturing systems is a plus. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset Effective communication and teamwork Project management abilities Continuous improvement mindset (Lean, Six Sigma preferred)Preferred Certification :
