Plastics Engineer Morales Group Staffing - 3.7 Indianapolis, IN Job Details Contract $45 - $50 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering Full Job Description Plastics Engineer 1 Year Contract A growing medical device manufacturer is seeking a Plastics Engineer to lead product development, tooling, and process improvement initiatives within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Lead plastic product and process development projects from concept through production. Support mold design, tooling development, validation, and process optimization. Utilize DOE, SPC, Mold Flow Analysis, FMEA, and Scientific Molding principles to improve quality and efficiency. Collaborate with R D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve technical challenges. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product performance, manufacturability, and cost reduction. Support design reviews, risk assessments, validation activities, and design transfer processes. Identify and evaluate new materials, technologies, and manufacturing methods. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Plastics, or Manufacturing Engineering. 5+ years of experience in plastics tooling, injection molding, and manufacturing processes. Experience with DOE, SPC, Mold Flow Analysis, FMEA, and Scientific Molding. Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), GD&T, and statistical analysis tools such as Minitab. Understanding of validation requirements within a regulated manufacturing environment. Strong project management, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills. Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies preferred. Knowledge of polymer materials and molding processes; polyolefin experience is a plus.
