Job Description

Position Summary The Traveling Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying, targeting, and securing new business opportunities to expand our injection molding customer base. This position requires reporting to our Dixon, KY headquarters approximately 80% of the time for strategy, reporting, and plant collaboration, with approximately 20% travel to meet with prospects, visit client sites, and close deals. We are looking for a seasoned professional who can hit the ground running with an established network of active leads and industry contacts in the injection molding or plastics manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities New Business Development:
Actively prospect, qualify, and close new business accounts utilizing your existing network and leads within the injection molding industry.
Travel and Client Engagement:
Travel approximately 20% of the time to meet with prospective clients, conduct presentations, and negotiate contracts to secure high-volume manufacturing partnerships.
On-Site Collaboration:
Spend approximately 80% of the time on-site at the Dixon, KY office to collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and executive teams to ensure project alignment and capacity fulfillment.
Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new clients, serving as their primary point of contact during the onboarding process.
Market Intelligence:
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market demand to identify new growth sectors for custom plastic injection molding.
Qualifications and Requirements Technical Expertise:
Extensive knowledge of the plastic injection molding process is a strict requirement. Candidates must understand tooling, resin characteristics, and molding cycles to effectively evaluate customer projects.
Engineering Background:
A strong understanding of engineering principles is highly preferred. The ability to read blueprints, interpret CAD designs, and discuss part manufacturability with clients' engineering teams is a major plus.
Established Network:
Must possess an active, pre-existing book of business, leads, or deep industry contacts capable of generating immediate sales opportunities.
Location and Availability:
Ability to report to the Dixon, KY office regularly, combined with a willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time as required to secure new business.
Sales Excellence:
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with exceptional negotiation, closing, and communication skills.
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour
