Job Summary The Material Scientist will work on detection and quantification of trace elements, composition and phase analysis of laser, materials, perform various instrumental analyses and oversee the maintenance of analytical instrumentation.
Duties:
  • Develop test methods and protocols for characterization of various laser materials
  • Operate and maintains variety of analytical instruments, including GDMS, XRD and Raman
  • Perform unknown sample analyses
  • Analyze data and write technical reports
  • Advanced degree in Material Science, Chemistry or Physics
  • Knowledge of materials and surface science
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation
  • Knowledge of mass-spectroscopy, X-Ray diffraction and crystallography
  • Experience with wet chemistry
  • Materials characterization experience with microscopies (AFM and SEM)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
