Job Description
The position of Electron Beam Welding Technician involves setting up and operating electron beam welding machines to join metal pieces based on specified requirements. This role is essential in the manufacturing process, which includes contributing to the development of new welding processes and collaborating with different departments to ensure continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Main Responsibilities:
Machine Setup & Operation :
Prepare and run electron beam welding machines to connect metal parts as per technical guidelines.Welding & Process Enhancement :
Execute welding tasks in production and aid in enhancing new welding techniques and processes. Coordination withProduction Supervisor :
Engage directly with the Production Supervisor to comprehend and meet customer order expectations.Quality Assurance :
Conduct checks during welding to ensure the quality and precision of workmanship.Problem Reporting :
Inform the Production Supervisor of any potential difficulties in meeting deadlines or production schedules.Equipment Surveillance :
Monitor the status and performance of welding equipment and report any issues to the Production Supervisor.Continuous Improvement & Quality Control :
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) Department to recognize and implement process enhancements and work instructions.Resolution of Corrective Actions :
Support the QA Department in addressing and resolving customer corrective actions linked to welding quality or performance.Inspection Tools Proficiency :
Understand and correctly utilize measuring and inspection tools to ensure compliance with specifications.Technical Documents Interpretation :
Read and comprehend part drawings, blueprints, and specifications to execute welding tasks accurately.Required Qualifications & Experience:
Education :
High School Diploma or equivalent, with additional technical training preferred.Experience :
Minimum of 3 years of experience with Electron Beam Welding (EB Welding) or Laser Welding.Skills :
Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and specifications. Familiarity with welding equipment and measurement/inspection tools. Effective communication and problem-solving skills, especially in addressing production hurdles and quality assurance.Working Environment:
