Job Description
As an Engineer I for Engineering/Plastics, you will be responsible for conducting a wide variety of testing on plastics, pipes, fittings and other related plumbing products to specific standards and procedures. In addition, being the technical representative for Special Projects, assist on all internal/external audits, and having a firm understanding of all areas within Plastics/Willow Run.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline Ability to read, understand and follow standards, SOP's and test methods Good verbal and written communication skills Highly motivated in completing assignments correctly and on schedule Great attention to detail Understanding in all areas within Plastics/Willow Run (Certification, Chlorine, HDS, Special Projects) Proficient in NSF Applications (Sample Manager (LIMS), Qualer, Insight, DaCs, Warehouse Manager, Master Control) Proficient in the use of PC/Windows software and Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Ability to utilize wide range of tools (hand, power, and pneumatic tools) Proficient with measuring instruments (caliper, pi tape, ruler, micrometer, balance) Ability to properly handle/mix chemicals and understand the safety risks of each Organized and able to work in a fast pace environment Ability to work well independently and in a team environmentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in an Engineering discipline 5+ years NSF Laboratory experience utilizing test s tandard, methods and data analysis software Proficient with laboratory QA/QC programs Experience with internal/external audits Knowledgeable with polymers and plumbing productsPHYSICAL DEMANDS
: Light to heavy physical effort required Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Working with various solvents, acids, and bases as needed Safety glasses and steel toes must always be worn in lab areas. Proper PPE (gloves, hard hats, face shields) needed during specific testing 80% lab work / 20% desk work Perform high level laboratory testing with minimal supervision Thorough understanding of data analysis and software Possess strong mechanical aptitude Maintain/organize assigned workload to meet specific due dates Prepare and record all data perISO 17025
requirements Create, review and update SOPs as necessary Monitor and maintain assigned lab equipment for calibrations and other lab needs Give and receive continuous trainings Cross-train in other lab areas to alleviate the workload when high sample volumes are experienced. Maintain a clean work environment and 6s areas Assure adherence to all safety/health policies and procedures Be a Technical Representative for all areas in Plastics/Willow Run Respond to internal/external client inquiries Research, create, and develop sampling, templates, and testing requirements for specific standards Assist with sample review Assist with internal/external audits Perform other duties as requestedSimilar remote jobs
